National Ministry
The national ministry of Disciple the Nations trains believers to understand the great commission of Christ and how to develop strategies for implementing this directive in their daily lives. Grasping a vision to actually produce disciples through your walk with Christ is absolutely imperative if the multiplication to which Christ calls us is to become a reality. Secondly, there must be some type of practical strategy in place for carrying out the vision. Otherwise, the desire to multiply may be present, but the results will never materialize. Thirdly, there must be the cultivation of deep interpersonal relationships, which lead to the mentoring process. Lastly, there must be accountability to one another and before the Lord if we are to produce disciples.
But what is a disciple? What do disciples look like? How do we know if we are producing disciples? In order to understand discipleship, we must first understand the biblical term. The term "disciple" is defined progressively in the New Testament. In other words, we see an evolution of this term. Anyone who followed a rabbi in the days of Jesus was called a "disciple." Therefore it is important to see how the term "disciple" gradually evolved as we observe the followers of Jesus.
The first references to disciples were those who were merely casual observers of Christ's teachings. In other words, these followers of Christ were casually listening to the words of the Lord. Their attitude may have been, - "Let's listen to this man and see what he has to say.” Next, we see some followers reacting to Christ's words therefore moving into the arena of concerned listeners. These followers realized the teachings of Christ were speaking to them and were concerned as to how they might respond. Thirdly, we see some becoming convicted listeners. For these followers, the truths of Christ's teaching had brought about great conviction of sin and they realized repentance was in order. Still others continued to listen to the teachings of Christ until they became convinced listeners. That is to say, they became convinced Jesus was a rabbi speaking the truth and wanted to follow him. Still others fell into the last category of disciples- the crucified follower. These followers of Christ would live and die for the sake of the Lord Jesus.
As you can see, the bible calls all of these "followers" of Christ - "disciples." But it is the last category that Christ calls all of us to enter. And it is this last category of disciples who cast themselves before the feet of Jesus in reckless abandonment that Disciple the Nations prays to raise up for the glory of God.
It is our belief that far too many "Christians" are still convinced listeners. They believe all the correct doctrinal tenants but have never surrendered themselves in reckless abandonment before the Lord. Therefore, the church remains lukewarm albeit very secure in doctrine and self-preservation. The church is sincerely convinced that correct beliefs are an end in themselves, but she has denied the powerlessness of doctrine without the presence of God’s Spirit.
It is the hope and prayer of Disciple the Nations to utilize our soon to be constructed training center to equip believers to become passionate followers of Christ in every facet of life. We hope to accomplish this initiative through regular seminars and retreats designed for life changing application and accountability. A sort of "school of Tyrannus" if you will (Acts 19:9).
Additionally, Disciple the Nations plans to simultaneously bring international leaders from many different nations to the training center to train them in exponential disciple making. Upon returning to their prospective nations and implementing the strategy of Jesus, the results will be explosive. We will see tens of thousands of disciples being produced for the glory of God. Already, we are seeing the results of simply obeying the directives of Jesus. Thousands are now becoming true Disciples of Christ. Villages are being evangelized and churches are being planted across Africa and Asia due to the natural progression of biblical multiplication. For too long the church has been trying to grow through additions and subtractions. It is time to line up with the directives of Jesus and follow his example and strategy.
Lastly, Disciple the Nations plans to invest in the lives of our foreign brothers by using the training center as a kind of trade school. We hope to equip our indigenous brethren with some type of trade or skill in order to support themselves financially upon returning to their prospective country. Professional leaders from the U.S. will be utilized for said training. Carpentry, basic dentistry, veterinarian skills, business management, investment brokering, and a host of other ideas are now emerging.
Although Disciple the Nations properties will not operate as a camp, we will provide many components of a camp facility as well as outdoor recreational opportunities for those who attend our training seminars. Most housing and food service needs will be available through nearby hotels and restaurants.
